Loan periods for Library of Things materials vary by item. Items are available for either a four-hour, 24-hour, or three-day checkout. Loan periods are listed on each item’s page.

Renewals may be granted if no one else is waiting for the item.

Library of Things materials must be checked out and returned in person at the Front Desk in Alpine or Eagle Pass. Do not use the book drop, as it can damage items. When returning an item, please confirm that all parts (such as cables, manuals, or cases) are included and in good condition. Missing pieces may result in additional charges.

Renewals are considered on a case-by-case basis and are generally allowed if no one else is waiting. Library of Things items are not eligible for Direct Mail service.

Items returned late will accrue a fine of $0.10 per day. If an item is lost or returned damaged, the borrower will be charged the full replacement cost.

SRSU Library and Archives does not accept replacements in lieu of payment for lost materials.
