Welcome Michelle Lacey, Project Director
We’re excited to finally welcome Michelle Lacey as the Project Director for the Title V DHSI grant project, “Digital Transformation and Modernization in Far West Texas.” This five-year grant project involves departments of the University across all instruction sites. We’re excited to be a part of this collaboration.
Michelle was raised in the frontera community of Laredo, Texas/Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, and is a proud first-generation college graduate. She worked in the library at Texas A&M International University as the Reference & Interlibrary Loan Assistant for four years while she completed her undergraduate degree. Since then, she has worked in various roles, including in Technical Services at the Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin; in the Elections Division of the Texas Secretary of State; for Texas Parks & Wildlife; and most recently at Sul Ross State University’s Center for Big Bend Studies.
Michelle’s passion for public service and access to information are woven throughout her 17 years of State service. She is thrilled and excited to work with departments across the SRSU community, build rapport, and enhance student experience. And we feel so lucky to have her in this role. Michelle welcomes visitors to stop by the second floor of the Wildenthal Memorial Library and chat with her anytime!
