ScanIt is a free service that provides scans of print materials held by the SRSU Library to students, staff, faculty, and retirees.

ScanIt is available to:

  • Currently enrolled SRSU graduate and undergraduate students at all locations, including distance learners and students enrolled in SRSU @ MC
  • SRSU faculty and staff
  • Retired SRSU faculty and staff

Materials available for scanning include:

  • Journal articles
  • Book Chapters
  • Articles and documents in microform (microfilm, microfiche)

The SRSU Library is also working toward Controlled Digital Lending which allows us to loan print books to digital patrons in a “lend like print” fashion.

Reproductions of Archival materials must be requested through the Archives of the Big Bend.

To place a request, log in to your ILL account using your LoboID and password. When placing a request, please select the ScanIt form. Indicate the type of material you are requesting (book chapter, journal article) and complete the citation information. Citations should be as complete as possible and abbreviations should be avoided.

ScanIt requests can also be submitted through the Request this item through ScanIt button while searching in:

ScanIt requests are typically filled within 24-48 hours. When your item is ready, you will receive an email with a link to your PDF scan available in your ILL account. Once a document has been uploaded, it is available for 30 days or 5 views, whichever comes first.

  • You will be notified by email if we are unable to fulfill your request through ScanIt.
  • We adhere to copyright fair use guidelines in providing articles and book chapters through ScanIt.
  • We can only provide one article or chapter from a book or single issue of a journal at a time.

The copyright law of the United States governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve a violation of copyright law.
