Celebrate International Open Access Week (#OAWeek)
We invite you to celebrate International Open Access Week (#OAWeek) this week (October 21 through 27) — and encourage your students to do the same. Open Access is not the be all end all for the future of scholarly communication, but we may find discussions about the principles of open scholarship and open data fruitful as we continue to grow and evolve as individual researchers and as a university.
How to learn more and contribute to the conversation about OA:
-
Learn about this year’s theme, “Community over commercialization” at the official International OA Week website, Theme — International Open Access Week
-
Attend the FREE and VIRTUAL Open Access Symposium this Friday, October 25 hosted jointly by UNT Libraries and Texas State University Libraries. Register here.
-
Check out our SRSU Library and Archives’ OA Research Guide, Start Here – Open Access – Research Guides at Sul Ross State University
-
Send the Library and Archives an email bragging about YOUR work with open scholarship. We want to know what you’re doing and whether you’re excited about it! Email srsulibrary@sulross.edu with any links, stories, updates, or ideas.
