One lesser known resource living in our Databases A-Z listing is CAMIO, the Catalog of Art Museum Images Online. Sure, you can do a Google Image Search any day… but how about cutting out the ads and taking yourself on a virtual field trip to The Detroit Institute of Arts (see also: dia.org) or the Walker Art Center (see also: walkerart.org)? Navigate high quality images of works of art using the CAMIO portal and gain access to important metadata, including linked descriptor tags that can send you down a deep rabbit hole of interconnected art.
Please note that CAMIO is licensed for use by students, faculty, and researchers affiliated with Sul Ross. Works of art may be used for educational and research purposes during the term of the subscription, if they are properly credited. Questions about citation?
